Michaela Stephen
MATR
Michaela has an extensive background in international business and entrepreneurship, with a degree from the University of Strathclyde Business School and a micromasters in Circular Economy from Wageningen University. Originally from Scotland, she has spent the last eight years driving social impact and innovation for global brands and startups. She served as a senior innovation consultant at Pioneers and as partnerships manager at WildHearts Group, a well-known B2B social enterprise. Throughout her career, Michaela has worked in over four countries, contributed her time to entrepreneurial support initiatives, taught social entrepreneurship to young leaders at Cambridge University, and relocated to Vienna, Austria.
In 2022, she was recognized as an MIT Innovator Under 35. Currently, Michaela is the co-founder of MATR, a Vienna-based startup that offers a circular economy mattress solution for the hotel industry, helping to save time, money, and reduce CO2 emissions.
